Early spring in the Appalachian mountain range is a wonderful time to make photographs. Buds are just starting to form and bare trees make a myriad of wonderful geometric patterns! In this photograph, I was able to isolate a lone stately tree that had the red spring blooms and lichens tightly intertwined.
