In 2012, I spent over an extended length of time photographing the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. As beautiful as the place was in autumn, the first few days of photography left me a tad underwhelmed. I didn’t feel my images had done justice to the beautiful spectacle that I was witnessing. But my luck was to turn shortly thereafter. A deep ledge had prevented access to this scene by the river. After scrambling down the ledge and over a few giant boulders, I came in front of this picturesque spectacle. Here, nature seemed to compose the most beautiful symphony inspired by autumn foliage and the gushing river.
