This image was made in the general vicinity that William Wordsworth lived. It’s hardly surprising that so much of Wordsworth’s poetry is steeped in his deep love of nature !
As the forecast had called for rain showers through most of the day, I wasn’t really expecting to do much photography this autumn morning. Nonetheless, I decided to drive down towards the lakes just to be amidst nature before the rains came down.
When this scene presented itself, I had to stop and make an image - neither the gusty winds nor the slight drizzle were going to deter me ! I took some time to find the right composition that accentuated the squiggly branches on the foreground tree while also providing some separation from the background tree covered with bright autumn foliage. This pause also allowed me to find just the right moment when the wind subsided to render all the branches in sharp focus.
I have been excited to process and print this photograph ever since I clicked the shutter on this scene. I’m thrilled with the way the print has shaped up.
