Early morning light bouncing off the walls of Zion Canyon often turns the Virgin River into a bed of glittering gold. While making this image, I had to wade through water that was more than knee high in many places that fall morning. In fact, the flow was so high that access to Zion Narrows had to be closed just a few hours later !! After wading for more than an hour in these conditions, I came to this vantage point that seemed to lead me deeper into the canyon through the gold rimmed river.
