I enjoy visiting the Eastern slopes of the Sierra range in autumn. The light is often dramatic and aspens that turn gold provide an endless possibility of compositional opportunities. I had explored the same grove of aspens a few seasons before I made this image. However, the conditions had been less than ideal. While making this image, I was captivated by how brilliant this tall standing grove of aspens appeared.
