I made this image during the first Sierra snow storm many winters ago. It was a fascinating experience to make intimate landscapes in the middle of a storm. The vibrant aspen leaves resembled sugar coated orange lollipops after this fresh dusting of snow! After making this image, I returned to the same spot later that evening. But by then, most of the aspen leaves had fallen off the trees and what was left had started to turn brown. This just went to show how ephemeral these beautiful moments with nature can be.
Aspen Leaves and Snow has been exhibited at Yosemite Renaissance XXVIII, Kellicutt International Photo Show and at the “Off The Beaten Path” exhibit in The G2 Gallery.
