New Zealand’s national parks are an absolute delight for a photographer - the air is clean, the landscapes are varied, and the light is incredibly conducive for photography. Luckily for me, the weather gods were cooperative too!
I would have settled for just a glimpse of Aoraki/Mount Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand. Having an opportunity to make photographs there is what dreams are made of !! The hardest part of making this image was not the hike in the dark or in the cold - it was in crossing bridges that were swinging quite wildly in the wind! After crossing the second such bridge, I was able to finally get a glimpse of Aoraki/Mount Cook. I perched myself on a rock to soak in this majestic sight and said a silent prayer in gratitude before making this photograph.
