I like to experiment with contrasting elements while making photographs. Heavy rains and snow melt had caused the Merced River to crest to dangerous levels. The rapidly flowing river acted as a blank canvas while blooming redbuds and the lush green grass provided a vibrant contrast and anchor to the image.
